Leadercast Update......

August 28, 2010 was an amazing day!  It became evident very early that God was moving in a mighty way as people from all over the country came for this leadership training, from Corozal to Punta Gorda and Belize City to Benque/Succotz. 165 people in all, representing all districts and cultures as well as different denominations and business/organizational interests and even age ranges (15 to 75yrs) all of whom left the event inspired and individually challenged to "Be the One".
Belize leaders registering
Pastor Louis Wade Jr. emceed the event and Mayor Simeon Lopez offered a warm welcome to all who attended. The Mayor was accompanied by some members of the Belmopan City Council and the Council's leadership team, also in attendance was leadership from the Belize Police Dept. Our appreciation goes out to the many Pastors of the Nazarene Church who pulled out all the stops to attend and encouraged members of the church to attend, this support and attendance is unprecedented for an, as yet, untried videocast seminar. We are also grateful to be able to provide "top notch" training to so many people outside of the church.

While the event was an obvious success it did not come without logistical challenges which provided wonderful opportunities for the organizing team to witness the Lord's provision as each hurdle was overcome, some examples:

Belize leaders
  • the bus from Punta Gorda broke down less than half way to the event yet 24 people persevered an alternative was provided, they reached Belmopan in time to benefit from most of the programme and to God be the Glory
  • the lunch was delayed but this provided the emcee an opportunity to engage the audience in discussion when we heard much encouraging feedback, one woman shared she was planning to retire but after listening to Jim Collins, she and her husband see that they are just beginning another phase in in their lives.... and so it is as we give ourselves to be used by God and serve people

A Leadercast showing was also provided for teachers a week earlier at which 100 were in attendance the feedback, then, from over 250 people has been overwhelming. We are now

Leaders enjoying the sessions
challenged to plan for 2011 as we hope to join the event live and we are also challenged to expand our outreach of equipping leaders in Belize. We welcome your suggestions, your support, your service however you may feel led to partner with the Church of the Nazarene (post a blog, send us an email, call us) and most importantly, please continue to join with us in prayer as the Lord reveals his plans for us in this area.
